The Leathercrafters Association of Queensland Inc. was formed in 1985 by a group of enthusiasts of all ages with various occupations and a desire to learn.
The Association is now in its 33rd year and is dedicated to the development of present and future members, to encourage the highest standards and to promote and advance leather in its many forms.
Today the Association is an International organisation with members worldwide. The members are committed to increasing the public profile of leather as well as awareness and interest. The Association presents the International Conference “Dimensions in Leather” in order to bring together tutors to present hands-on workshops, and to share knowledge, techniques and ideas.
This is the ‘thirteenth’ event since 1994, which was an overwhelming success and has led to other events being presented in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016.
The Conference is a creative event offering one and two day workshops. The week-long event will include a comprehensive programme with International and Australian recognised tutors. Leather is one of the most interesting materials. Its beauty, feel, and character are unique and no man-made substance has the qualities of leather.
