STITCHING WITHOUT AN AWL

Jack Worthington - Stitching

ONE DAY WORKSHOP (SUNDAY & WEDNESDAY).

MATERIAL COST $15.00

It is not necessary to use an awl to make stitching holes when using Stitching Irons with either diamond or flat shaped teeth that are designed for punching right through the leather.

This workshop is for the leathercrafter, whether a beginner or more experienced who would like to further their knowledge of modern saddle stitching.

The workshop will examine various aspects of stitching without an awl, including:- Different irons available - sizes, brands etc. Types and sizes of thread and needles. SPI (stitches per inch) for different thicknesses of leather.

Using only stitching irons to make holes, students will practise stitching commonly used seams. We will also produce and stitch a pattern for a type of fancy stitching that is often seen on belts.
